Our Students
Truman welcomes inquisitive students from all over Missouri, across the nation, and internationally. Our students come seeking an intellectually stimulating academic setting that challenges and nurtures their minds. Some already have a specific path in mind, while others plan to tap into the wealth of multidimensional opportunities offered at Truman to shape their academic pursuits.
No matter where their journey begins, Truman provides a place where they can explore their passions and transform their interests into purposeful and rewarding careers.
Meet Some Students
Student Spotlight: Jackson Sefrit
Since he was in seventh grade, Jackson Sefrit knew he wanted to be an accountant. Through his journey as an undergraduate student and now as a graduate student in Truman's accounting program, he is realizing his childhood dream.
Student Spotlight: Tyler Bichsel
Most days, Tyler Bichsel can usually be found at the University planetarium. While a creative writing major with minors in folklore and film studies might not be the stereotypical student associated with the planetarium, Tyler thinks it’s a perfect fit.
Student Spotlight: Christina Carapia-Chaparro
After seeing the exciting research projects of her fellow students, Christina was motivated to conduct her own. Her research related to COVID-19 has inspired her to pursue a career in the public health field.
Student Spotlight: Caitlin Smith
A senior, Caitlin has tried to make the most of every opportunity she’s had during her time at Truman. From serving as president of her sorority, to working as an orientation leader, the future music teacher has stayed active for four years.
