For transfer students starting in the fall

Welcome to the Truman Family! We are excited to welcome you to campus this August for the start of the Fall 2025 semester. Orientation for new students, including both first-year and transfer students, is designed to help you transition into the Truman community.

8:15 - 11:30 a.m.
On the parking lot (east) side of Missouri Hall

Lunch
11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
In Ryle Hall, lunch tickets are given at check-in

Welcome Presentation
1:00 - 2:20 p.m.
In the Georgian Rooms

Rotating Informational Sessions
2:30 - 3:45 p.m.
In Baldwin hall

Ice Cream Sundae Bar
4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
On the Quad (rain location: Baldwin Hall Hallway)

Check-In

Center for Academic Excellence in the Pickler Memorial Library will be available to answer questions.
Student Health Center will be open and available to answer questions.

Students:

Will split into groups of 10 or less with an orientation leader
Learn how to be a Truman Student academically and socially
Review TruView and Brightspace
Keys to Campus Connections partners discuss first generation students, opportunities to get involved on campus, and diversity/inclusion on campus

Families and Guests:

Transition activities
Pick up a yard sign to share the great news that their family member is attending Truman
Ask questions of a panel comprised of staff from our Financial Aid, Health Center, and Residential Life offices
Hear from prior freshman and transfer students

**Note: The August Orientation date is designed primarily for incoming Transfer students, Freshmen students traveling a great distance, and Freshmen students with special circumstances that do not allow attendance at a June Orientation date. Please contact the Office of Admission at 660-785-4114 or orientation@truman.edu to request an eligibility review for the August Orientation session. We highly recommend making every effort for incoming Freshman to attend one of the June Orientation sessions.
