Jeanne Harding received her bachelor’s in English from Truman in 1992 and her MAE in elementary education in 1993. From there, she spent more than 20 years in K-12 education. She held a variety of positions at all levels (elementary, middle and high school). She taught in the regular classroom, at-risk, gifted education, English and served as principal.
Jeanne has been at Truman State University for seven years where she has also served in a variety of capacities. She has taught pre-service teachers in the education department, served two years as the interim dean of the School of Health Sciences and Education, served one year as the interim dean for the School of Arts and Letters and is currently the director of graduate studies/director of the Institute for Academic Outreach. She is also the director of field experience and teaches in education.
Jeanne has been an active member of the Northeast Missouri Alumni Chapter board and credits her involvement to Denise Smith’s encouragement.
In addition to her service on the Northeast Missouri Alumni Chapter board, Jeanne is involved in the community through First United Methodist Church, the Pantry for Adair County and a variety of committees in the community.
Jeanne is married to Geoff Harding, and they have three children: Scott, Olivia and Sylvia. Scott will do his medical residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis beginning in June, Olivia is a 2nd year nursing major at Truman, and Sylvia is a junior at Kirksville High School.
