Joshna Karki (’23) – Student Representative
Joshna came to Truman from Nepal and describes her experience coming to campus by saying “When I moved to the US to rediscover myself between new horizons and become the first from my family to earn a college degree, Truman became my second home. My mind’s opening to new perspectives.”
She works as a student caller for Tel-Alumni. That opportunity has helped connect to her Bulldogs from all walks of life and also influenced her to become the student representative to the Alumni Board. Joshna is also involved in Student Senate at Truman.
As a Pre-MAE student, she is working towards a special education certification to understand how different instructional technology tools can be efficiently deployed, accommodating different learning needs and contributing to an inclusive classroom model. She sees her education helping shape research on selecting, implementing and evaluating educational technology initiatives in Nepal with the goal of transforming teaching and learning processes in Nepal’s public schools.
