Jason McDonald holds a doctorate in history from the University of Southampton in the United Kingdom. He teaches courses on American history, historiography, and public and digital history, plus aspects of migration, ethnicity, and race, such as the Civil Rights Movement and the American eugenics movement.
He is the author of American Ethnic History: Themes and Perspectives (2007) and Racial Dynamics in Early Twentieth-Century Austin, Texas (2012). He has also published essays and articles in various edited collections and scholarly journals, including Immigrants and Minorities and Journal of the Gilded Age and Progressive Era.
