Accounting and business administration majors are actively involved with organizations and clubs that provide opportunities to learn and exhibit leadership skills, gain valuable experience in their chosen professions, and interact with students of similar interests.
- Beta Alpha Psi
This international scholastic and professional organization is for accounting, finance, and information systems majors to recognize outstanding academic achievements and promotion of their study and practice. Beta Alpha Psi offers professional development and networking as well as service learning opportunities through their sponsorship of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program. - Beta Gamma Sigma
BGS is the international honor society that honors high academic achievement in the study of business and accounting. Membership in this society is the highest academic honor a business student anywhere in the world can receive in business or accounting programs accredited by AACSB International. Membership is extended to the top 7% of juniors, 10% of seniors and 20% of master’s candidates. Membership is for life, which provides a lifetime of worldwide networking opportunities. - Bulldog Student Investment Fund (BSIF)
BSIF is a hands-on learning laboratory for students who are interested in investments. Students are given the opportunity to actively manage around $100,000 and make decisions about equity and cash positions. This organization is made possible through the generosity of private support for the fund. - Community of College Entrepreneurs (CCE)
CCE is a community of entrepreneurs from all majors. The organization unites these entrepreneurial students within Truman as well and connects them with outside resources such as other entrepreneurs, alumni, and various companies willing to help a student’s startup. CCE was created as a way to educate students about entrepreneurship, provide resources for members to start their businesses/organizations, and create a growing community of like-minded innovators and leaders. - Delta Sigma Pi
Delta Sigma Pi is a professional business fraternity. DSP members, who are as diverse as the business world, gain experiences in professionalism, leadership, ethics, and philanthropy. The Fraternity provides members with relationships, skills, and ideals necessary for them to make a significant impact wherever life leads. Truman’s chapter is one of the most prominent chapters in the nation and has won the Outstanding Chapter of the Year Award more than any other chapter nationwide. - Enactus
Enactus is an international professional and service organization that allows members to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise. Members develop and implement projects that teach the principles of free market economics, entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, personal success skills, and business ethics with a vision of changing the world. Enactus is open to all majors.
