Communication Scholarships and Work Opportunities
The Communication Department offers students many ways to receive financial aid through scholarships or student employment opportunities.
Foundation Scholarships
Truman State University Foundation scholarships are donor-funded university scholarships and are available to both incoming first-year and transfer students in addition to returning students. As an incoming student, you are automatically considered for a number of Foundation scholarships related to your academic program once you submit your application for admission to Truman. Returning Truman students can submit an application through TruView around February for a majority of the Foundation scholarships that will be distributed for the next academic year (Truman’s Office of Advancement notifies students by email letting them know when to apply).

Service Scholarships
Service scholarships are also available to students for participating in departmental organizations, such as the Truman Forensics team. Auditions for Forensics service scholarships are held each spring.
Student Employment
Student employment opportunities are often made available through scholarship jobs and federal work-study programs. Through these, students work with a faculty supervisor to outline the duties and responsibilities of the position to better help serve the respective organization. Jobs may be found on the TruPositions website.
