This is an eight-week, 40-hour-a-week unpaid internship, coinciding with the University’s eight-week summer session. Students earn nine credit hours. The internship comes with a tuition scholarship, thanks to the generosity of Fred and Ethel Schwengel, who graduated from Truman State University in the 1930s and established an endowment to support students who share their passion for history.
After being selected, the interns can pursue experience in the area that matches their interests. Internship opportunities at the Library and Museum include:
- archives
- museum development
- educational programming
Applicants for this internship should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and basic computer skills, as well as an ability to work independently on multiple tasks. The successful applicants will be dependable, motivated, and resourceful.
