Music Department—Programs and Studios
Horn Studio
Truman offers horn students a wide range of performing experiences including two wind symphonies, a symphony orchestra, concert band, marching band, horn choir, brass choir, woodwind quintets, brass quintets, and the annual Gold Medal Concerto Competition. Ensemble participation and music scholarships are based on an audition and are open to both music majors and non-majors.
Horn studio class is held once a week providing you with opportunities to perform solos, orchestral excerpts, etudes, and chamber music. Each student is assigned to perform at least once a semester. We also rehearse horn choir music in studio class.
