Who Can Apply
Applications are accepted only from graduating college seniors or those who have graduated within the past academic year. No one will be considered who has started graduate studies. The selection process for the Junior Fellows Program is very competitive. Accordingly, applicants should be of high academic quality.
Award Amount
The monthly salary amount is $3,750 subject to federal, state, and local taxes. A generous benefits package is provided, including medical, dental, and life insurance s well as vacation leave. Junior Fellows are responsible for their own housing arrangements. All fellowships begin on August 1st. Junior Fellows are hired for a period of approximately one year.
History
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing cooperation between nations and promoting active international engagement by the United States. Founded in 1910, its work is nonpartisan and dedicated to achieving practical results.
How to Apply
Applications are available through designated nominating officials at each school. Applicants are encouraged to consult with school nominating officials, as they are most familiar with the particular school’s nomination process.
Notice your application will not be complete until all components are complete and received.
1. Application Form
2. Essay (one page or less, double spaced) on why the student would like to become at Junior Fellow.
3. 1-2 page resume
4. Two recommendations
5. An essay of no more than three type written, double-spaced pages on one of several topics.
All materials must be submitted by the appropriate due dates. Review a list of important dates and deadlines for the Carnegie Junior Fellows Program.
